Thing 8

Thumbstacks is handy. It would be a benefit because you wouldn't have to worry about losing your presentation disk. The presentation would be available on the web. The features aren't as advanced as PowerPoint but it is still very handy.

Thing 7

I have used Yahoo Messenger on a personal level for about one year. My daughter, who is going to be 21 in April, taught me how. She also introduced me to text messaging, which we use all the time. :)

I think IMing in the Library would be beneficial because you could get other's professional opinions without them having to leave their desk. If they wanted to come and talk directly with a patron, they could do that as well.

It really would be a benefit because it offers the patron the opportunity to have the "expert" with them at all times!

Thing 5 & 6

I posted about this in Thing 4. Flickr is a really neat site. I will experiment a little more and update this post. Since there are 4 of us here, at MSU, working on the 23 Things together, it will be interesting to hear what the others have learned. It's neat to work together because we can discuss our likes and dislikes. It has been a great experience!

Thing 4

Flickr is very interesting!!! I could spend hours looking around at other's photos. This is one of the most interesting things I found! I'm so happy to be able to navigate this site. I am sure I will be spending a LOT more time here! Thank you for the opportunity to learn!
The mosaic was constructed algorithmically by Jim Bumgardner using images from the Squared Circle photo pool at Flickr, the photo-blogging website.

Thing 3

I was afraid of the RSS feeds. I did quite a bit of reading and found it was pretty easy to work with. It is very handy to use to keep up-to-date on informational tracks that you follow.

Thing 2

Library 2.0 - what a revelation! People are using all of these tools! Libraries should too! There is a lot of information on this subject. I expect that the highlights that we are reviewing will become commonplace. Technology moves so fast, how does one keep up?

Thing 1

I am enjoying the opportunity to learn these new things! I thought this would be more difficult. My blog is set up and registered and now I am off to try even more new things!
